j Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday, lour pens were filled with birds of all classes. Prices were well maintained, and we would advise anyone having poultry to dispose of to do so before the end of this month. Prices as under: hens, young, Is lid to 2s 7d, fat 2s Cd to 3s 2d; cockerels, young, Is to 2s Id, fat 2s 6(1 to 3s; liens, laying, White Leghorns, 2a 6d to 2s ftd; ducks 2s 3d to 2s fid; drakes 2s 6d; ducklings, young 7id to Is, forward Is Id to Is Od; hen and chicks 5s Od to 6s; turkey hens 4s to 0s Gd; gobblers 9s to 9s 6d. Fruit.—During the week small quantities have come forward from Auckland, Nelson, »nd Hawke's Bay. Prices are still firm and are likely to be for some time yet. Prices as under according to quality and size of cases: Bananas, ripe, 3d per lb.; apples, American Jonathans, 10s to 17s case; lemons, very short supply, lis case; tomatoes, first grade, is 2d to Is 24d lb., second grade BJd to Is lb.; cucumbers 7s Od to 8s Gd dozen; gooseberries 5s Od, 24 lb. box; cocoanuts lis fid sack; green peas Is ajd peck; new potatoes ljd to l|d per lb.; broccoli 5s 6d to 8s 3d per dozen; cabbage 4s to 4s Gd per sack; rhubarb 5s to 6s per dozen bundles.
