Ho possessed a tntiy marvellous and unerring eye for troops and their disposition. He had a talort for recognising at aglance every tactical' advantage, his sagacity enabling him to perceive immediately the mistakes of an enemy. He made a practical success of ' the enveloping attack, which was subsequently adopted by Germany, consequently the Germans claimed him as one of their school. INTERMENT AT ST. PATJI/S. London, November 17. Lord Roberts' coffin has armed at Folkestone, and has thence been taken ' to Ascot. The burial service wiil take place at St. Paul's at noon on Thursday. In moving in the House of Lords awl in the House of Commons addresses to the King regarding the national monument to Lord Roberts, Mr. Asquith and Lord Kitchener paid glowing tributes to Lord Roberts' genius as a soldier and character as a man. The Opposition •leaders supported the proposal.
