A special meeting of tho Pahiatua Lodge of the Manchester Unity of Oddfellows unanimously decided that a levy of Is per member bo struck to assist the Patriotic Fund. NO NEWS FliOM FANNING ISLAND. Auckland,, Yesterday. The Pacific Cable Board's steamer ]ris arrived this morning, bringing three oiliccra from Norfolk island, being tho usual stall' exchanges. Secrecy was ob»orved with regard to thu vessel's movements. Mr Millward, manager of the Pacific Cable Board, arrived on the Iris. He states that lie has had 110 communication from Fanning Island since the cable was cut. The Board's employees and their families on Hie island number .'JO. Mr Millward had no idea what happened to them. OUR TROOPS.
