The winter meeting of the Wellington Racing Club concluded yesterday. The weather, with the exception of one silght shower, was fine though cold, but the course, owing to recent rain, was in a very heavy condition, and in consequence times were slow. Racing on the whole, was good, and there was a large attendance of the public. Speculation on the totalisator was brisk, the sum of £41,171 10s going through the machine, compared with £30,457 for the corresponding day last year, making a total for the meeting of £75,318, as against £5f1y034 10s. The large increase is principally due to the fact that during this meeting there were eight races a day, compared with seven on previous 'occasions. Results:— !
