In the House of Commons, Sir Edward Grey, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, said the Mew Hebrides situation was nowise satisfactory under the condominium, but lie deprecated the publication of reports of one side, as being calculated to Ause bickering and friction between the two Governments. He was unable to sfty whether or not the present conference would achieve things of vital importance. He wanted to get within sight ojf an agreement on something really worth having.
