Mr Ulic Shannon has been appointed sporting editor of the, Evening Post. Mr E. P. Spray, factory manager at Rugby road, is spending a two-weeks' holiday in New Plymouth. It is understood that tllie choice of a Reform candidature for tJie Hutt seat will rest 'between Mr M, W. Welch, of Taita, and Mr Win. Houba, d,en-ti-it, of Wellington. 7
Dr. Valintine, who recently underwent an operation in a private hospital in New Plymouth, was in attendance yesterday at the meeting of the Hospital Board, where he was cordially welcomed and congratulated on his recovery by the chairman and members.
Mr A. R. Kitclling, an old resident of Nelson, died somewhat 'unexpectedly last Sunday morning. The Oate Mr Kitching was widely .known and much respected. He leaves a widow and a grown-up family of ' four sons and Shreo daughters.
