PEDIGREE JERSEY SALE.
TWO WELL-KNOWN HERDS SOLD. At the Waiwakailio salt-yards yesterday Mr. Newton King held a sale of pedigree Jersey cattle on behalf of Messrs W. J. B. and W. Paton and Mr. S. W. Shaw. Prices were not high, the best price being 45 guineas for Mr. Shaw's Peggy's »a»cy. b6 ' MESSES PATON'S CATTLE.
These cows were not in the best condition, looking a trifle rough. There was a good, attendance of buyers, but some of the cows did not reach the owners' idea of value, and were bought in. This checked bids a little for subsequent lots. Mr. S. W. Shaw wielded the hammer and sales were made as follows: Miss Abundance (Abundance—Waihene), aged 1) years-Mr. C. 0. ilawice, New Plymouth, 23gns. Hawke, 22gns. Heifer, Melia Kirin (Melia Ann's Sultw»—Flora), aged 1 year 10 months—Mr. 0. 0. Hawke, 24gns. Heifer calf, Abelia (Abundance—Waihene), aged 10 months-Jitr. ,J. Poletti, Bell Block, lfty 2 gns. Heifer calf, Noblesse (Campanile's Sultan—Jezebel), aged 8 months—Mr. 0. 0. Hawke, 25gns. Bull, Melia Ann's Sultan (Campanile's Sultan—Melia Ann's Maid), bred by Messrs Griffiths and Cornwall—Mr. Alec. Brown, Midhirat, 26gns. Grade Jersey cows were sold to Mr. 0. Old, Waitara, for £lO 10s and £ls, and a heifer to Mr. Poletti for £7 10s. MR. STANLEY SHAW'S CATTLE.
These cows were in good condition and well-mannered. Mr. Shaw's reason for disposing of them is that he is cutting up his South road property. Mr. C. R. Fairbrother was the auctioneer. Sales were made as follows:

Cow, Tiny Gem (Mill's Reward—Tiny Dot), aged 3 years 9 months—Mr. W. Vickers, Midhirst, Signs. Cow, Model (Duchess Magnet—Sultana), aged 8 years 10 months—Mr. T. Buchanan, Waitara, 2Sgns. Cow, Modesty (Python—Model), aged 2 years 10 months, weak in hindquarters, just calved—Mr. Hugh' Purdie, 17gns. . Cow, Tiny's Jewel (K. See—Tiny Dot), aged 2 years 10 months—Mr. H. L. Spcnce, 33gns. PulchTa, a 5-year-old cow, sold on account of Mr. H. B. Lepper, brought 21 guineas from Mr. A. Hazelton, Midhirst.
