CELEBRATIONS IN AUSTRALIA. By Cable —Press Association —Copyright j Sydney, May 25. Empire Day was celebrated in the churches by a combined chureh parade of troops in uhe Domaii. Melbourne, May 85. Two boys while celebrating Empire Day dropped a cracker in a cask of methylated spirits. One of the boys had his eye blown out and his nose blown off. The other escaped witk a severe shaking.
BONFIRES AND FUNCTIONS. By Te'egraph—Press Association. Dunedi», May 25. Empire Daw was celebrated by two bonfires overlooking the town on Saturday evening under the auspices of the Overseas dub. To-day there have been a few school functions. Sixty lligii Street school boys, members of the Nary League, assembled at the grave of Midshipman Boy:-:, V.C., who won his distinction iu Japan 50 years ago. These boys have for some years kept the grave in older. Addresses appreciate to the occasion were given.
