BIG INCREASE IX RATEABLE VALUE. By Cable—Press Association-^Copy right Sydney, May 20.
The financial statement submitted to the City Council showed that during the past three years the value of city property had increased £501,203 upon rental value and £3,049,567 upon the unimproved and capital value basis, representing an increased rate collection, without altering the amount in the £, of £61.013. The estimated expenditure for 1914 exceeds that of 1913 by £83,567. The total estimated rate returns are £44,830.
