A SPONGING WASTER.
SUNT TO GAOI, FOR THREE MONTHS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Yesterday. William Stevens, a young man, was charged with vagrancy at the Magistrate's Court to-day. The chief witness for the prosecution was accused's father, who was subjected to a severe cross-ex-amination by his son. Evidence showed accused was addicted to drink and sponged on his father, and threatened to turn the latter out of 'his home. In sentencing prisoner to three months' imprisonment, Mr. Cooper, S.M., said. "I. think you low (blackguard for the manner in which you questioned your father. You are a wretched waster."
