BURNED TO DEATH.
FATE OF TWO G\TMI>IGGKRS. By To'egraph—Press Association. Whangarei, Thursday. Two men, Patrick Daley, aged 05, and Alfred Parr, aged (16, we're burned to death in a whare in the Pwvera gumdigging camp, near Whangarei, yesterday. Daley was seen alive at daylight, when he called at an adjoining whare for matches. The diggers, following their usual custom, were ivway ' from canip all day, and on their return one of their number made the shocking discovery that both deceased were lying in the open' fireplace. Their bodiei were badly charred. A lar t e quantity of liquor was found 'on the* ) "emises. 'it is surmised that both men, who lived together, had had a drinking 'bout, and while intoxicated fell oft* a form, which was found in front of the fireplace. There were no sjgns of any struggle.
