Constable E. Bosworth, of Green laland, Duncdin, an old Ta'ranaks boy, is on a visit to New Plymouth.
Mr. H. Atmore, who was to speak i* Taranaki this week, has been taken iit, and. will not be able to carry out his engagements. In the list of Government nominees' on harbor boards announced by the Minister of Marine are Mr. E. Dockrill, at New Plymouth; Mr. Harry McKenzie, Waitara; Mr. A. Christenaen, Patea.
Mr. G. W. Browne informed a Ncwa representative last night that lie would fnot be a candidate for the vacancy on ■ the Borough Council, but intended to. take a rest and a holiday io recuperate his 'health. _ ; The death occurred in Aucklf.:id; on - Sunday, as the result of an accident, of Mr. John Phillips, an old, resident of Stmtmlands, Warkworth. Mr. Phillips, who was 80 years of age, came to New Zealand 58 years ago in the ship Whirlwind. He resided' at Streamlands for Si years.
