As a collapsible boat was being lowered from the Waihine this morning, l the block and tackle carried away through the valve of the winch Blowing out. An able seaman named Tate was struck by the falling gear. He sustained a- badly crushed thigh and had his thumb nail torn off. SUDDEN DEATH. Dunedin, Last Night. A woman named Mary Hanley, who was employed intermittently as laundress at Ashbum Hall, was found dead en the road about half-a-mile from the institution yesterday afternoon. She was working as ÜBUal yesterday, but another employee who went along the road shortly after she left found her lying dead. Death is believed to have teen due to natural causes.
