DOMINION HOUSE.
AUCKLAND FAVORS THE PIOJECT.

A largely attended meeting of the executive council of the Chamber of Commerce was held yesterday afternoon to consider Earl Grey's Dominion House scheme. The president of the Chamber (Mr. B. Bent) occupied the chair, and the Mayor (Mr. C. J. Parr) and the chairman of the Harbor Board (Mr. H. Gunson) were also present and~exprcssed themselves strongly in favor of the scheme.: Mr. Kent stated that ,an establishment on the proposed site : of the* Dominion House would enable (1) the Governments of self-governing dominions and their various states and provinces to concentration one central stye, their offices being now widely distributed in different parts of ftondon; (2) the attention of the Home consumer to be effectively and impressively foeussed on the products of the dominions overseas; (3) manufacturers of the United Kingdom to ascertain and to meet the requirements of Greater Britain. The meeting unanimously decided to commend the scheme to the favorable consideration of the Government.
