WELLINGTON'S ELECTRIC LIGHTING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. The city electric lighting department show* good progress in the past year. Revenue totalled £61,968, compared with £>8,157 in the previous year. Expenditure this year amounted'to £40,139, leaving a credit balance of £15,809, as against a surplus of £13,148 last, year. Mayor Luke regards the result ass'particularly gratifying, since the price of current had been reduced by a penny per unit in the second half of the year. Private consumers took £46,700' worth of current last year, an increase of £IBOO.
