Colonial Borrowing
NEED FOR CAUTION. OPINION OF THE TIMES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 5, 5.5 p.m. London. April 4. The Times says: "The sinking fund for the Queensland loan, and for several recent colonial issues, is inadequate to provide for redemption at maturity. For their own sakes, as well as in the stockholders' interests, it will be well for colonial Governments to regulate their loan operations on sound and conservative lines. Their stocks enjoy a more favorable market than almost any other class of securities, and it will be to their advantage to prove themselves worthy of that exceptional favor.
