CONCLUDING TO-NIGHT.
1 he Baud Carnival is raoidly drawing to an end, ,l,ut nevertheless the interest js increasing, if one can judge by the huge attendances and ,tiie enthusiasm displayed bv the audiences. Last night the Theatre Royal was again filled The early part of the evening was devoted to a sale of goods. Mr L. A. Nolan welded the hammer, and as bidding was brisk a. quick clearance was effected. Hie Arcadian Revellers frisked about gaily, and delighted the audience. Three ot the candidates for Carnival Queen faced tne footlights, and all got a treat reception. The country candidate, Miss Hilda Bishop, gave a recitation, ''The Inventor's Wife." and, though a stranger to _ His audience, her pleasin? style quickly made her a favorite. As an en-1 core she gave "The Potato Boy." Her reception was very enthusiastic; and she recMvcd several beautiful bouquets and ! % ,!? wer , r ? f c *f h < w!,ich stalled about £2 10s. Miss Glory Harrison scored another success with "The Summertime I °«Th "v.? yi?™ Ei ' een McGuire ;n The Path of Flowers," each Teceiv>ng floral and cash tributes from their numerous admirers. The tiniest tot among the "Washerwomen" was also accorded a floral offering, and her profuse bows of acknowledgment fairly brought down the house.
