•RAIIOTU. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Mrs. T. Billing- passed away lit her home on the Ngariki road on Saturday, the2Lst. She had been a very patient suiferer for four or live years. She was, despite her troubles, of a very bright disposition and had many friends. Ureal sympathy is felt for her husband and family of five sous, a daughter, and one grandchild in their sad bereavement. A large number paid their last respects on Tuesday. The Lev. Addenbrooke ooicialcd at the graveside. Tuesday was one of the roughest days felt for a long time along this coast. The wind was so -trong that itcarried more gravel oil' the load in one day than the council will be able to put back in a month. The local factory paid out £1177 18s for February butter-fat. at the rate of Lid per lb. Cheese factories who were lucky enough to sell their output at the beginning of the season, can congratulate themselves, as prices are now ruling very much lower than I hose offered at the beginning of the season. Whooping cough is now going the rounds of our district, several children i being affected.
