SUNDAY PICNICS.

A PRESBYTERIAN PROTEST. By Telegraph—Press Association. ■ Dunedin, Last Night. At a' meeting of the Dunedin Presbytery Committee on Sabbath observance to-day, a resolution was passed, strongly protesting against the action of the Bakers' Union in fixing Snnctay as the day for the trade picnic. The president of the Union, when interviewed to-night, stated that lus Union had been forced to take Sunday, or be debarred from holding a picnic. He blamed a number of employers who had refused to give them Saturday as picnic day, the only really suitable day. Members of the Union regretted being forced to take Sunday for holding their picnic.
