THE TALISMAN MINE.

A DIRECTORS' BULLETIN. By Telegraph-» Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Tiie local board of the Talisman Company Messrs. Jackson, Reston, and ,•„,, ght ' lssue the following:— 'The drop in the market price - of talisman shares is probably due to the report made by Dr. Henderson, now being issued by the Government Mines Department upon (inter alia) the Karangahake field. The attention of Mr. Stansficld has been drawn by the Board to the report, and his reply by letter received this morning is as follows:—'I should not be inclined to take it too seriously. We all know that mines become exhausted or unprofitaole finally, but the Talisman has not reached that stage yet, and neither Dr. Henderson nor anyone else can prove that it is near or otherwise.' Continuing, he says: *No. 2 wing is still all right, and I hope to get No. 9 going next week if the *men are available.: This is the opinion of our mine manager, who more than anyone else is acquainted with the idiosyncrasies of the mine and the district. In considering, the reports of scientific experts, investors should always remember that the older and more experienced the man the less he is inclined to indulge in phophecy."
