The Daily Telegraph states that a well-known spiritualist was giving a seance in a room full of people, with the lights low. Several spirits appeared and a gentleman to whom the medium was under engagement, wishing to test the genuineness of the spirits, ruacfc a grab at a ghostly apparition, and encountered a flimsy material. A light struck Bhowed that lie held one end of a piece of mosquito netting, and the medium was tugging- at the other. The medium did not accept the chance to explain, hut bolted into the .-treet hat-Ic-ss, pursued by some of the audience. The medium, interviewed later, declared that the demonstration was genuine, and that the spirits actually materialised. The statement that he held one end ol the drapery was absolutely false. *One of the audience, who accompanied him in his flight and searched him, supported (he medium's statements.
