Hundreds of scholars in Warwickshire struck as a protest against the decision of the authorities to enforce attendance after the children had passed theiKthirtecnth birthday. They paraded thft streets carrying flags and damaged the school buildings. The police dispersed them several times. Children in the Scottish schools are also causing trouble. They have demanded a short school day, a half-holi-day, and no caning. When they returned each was given four cuts, the headmaster being kept busy for half an hour.
