OBITUARY.
A WKI.L-KXOWX FOOTBALLER. One of the giants of Taranaki football, with a Dominion reputation, passed away at his homo at Otakeho at 4 a.m. on .Monday, iu the nerson of the •well-. known native Tamu. The deceased Maori was a member of the Waimato Club, and for many years had made himself felt ns a leader of the representative pack. An immensely strong and powerful Maori, the recent news that he was suffering from a disease from which he was unlikely to recover came as a shock to all his friends of the football field, who wi" griere to hear of his death in the -rime of life. The last bi<r match in which Tamu took nart was that in which Taranaki wrested the Ranfurly Shield from Auckland in 1013, and he was eren then playing when far from being i n a fit state to do so.
