FIRES.
TWO HOUSES BURNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. ylnvercargill, Yesterday. A lire at Otautiiu at 2.4") this morning destroyed two wooden buildings, one of two storeys and 22 rooms, owned by F. King, chemist, and the other owned by Robert Jaquery, tinsmith. Tile out-., break began upstairs in the former, which was occupied by Mrs. Govan, confectioner. King's building was' fov £JOO, and Jaquery's for 800. David Oreve, painter, who occupied one shop, hail an insurance of £2f>o. Mrs. Oova:i was uninsured, and estimates her loss at £l5O.
