ROYAL ARTILLERY BAND.
CONCERTS IX NEW PLYMOUTH. One of the most remarkable events in the musical history of New Zealand is the visit of the band of the Royal Regiment of Artillery, which by & special arrangement with the military authority of Great Britain was engaged t» play at the Auckland Exhibition. Th« band was only allowed to be engage* for a limited period, which has now acta* y expired as far , s their present* at the Exhibition i* concerned; but further negotiation* with the officers of tho regiment, for an extension of the season, were successful; and this extension w being utilised principally (• give other parts of the Dominion u opportunity to see and hear the baikS without Auckland. The band wiR reach New Plymouth on Thursday, February 10, from Wan-.imii, and will plav that evening in the Coronation Hall. On the following afternoon a second ana w.ial concert, the last of the tour, will "«' give,, ■„ the Itecreat'n-i Grounds, and m tne evening the baud will leave for Auckland.
