ANNUAL MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. The fifty-second annual meeting of the Auckland Gas Company, Ltd., was held to-dav. The chairman of directors (Mr. J. H. Upton) presided. Receipts showed a total increase of £l!>.2BJ. very nearly eleven per cent., and expenditure an increase of :Cli),o2S. very nearly fifteen per cent. This proportion is somewhat unusual, and is owing to various causes, among which are the strike, increased cost of coal, expense of altering the positions of certain mains, expense of the demonstration of gas cooking, the number of new accounts totalling 11122. making a total of 23,71.">.
