THE WRECKED TYRONE.
SMASHED TO PIECES. lly Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Big seas round the coast the past days Jiave played havoc with the wrecked Tyrone.' The forward portion has bodily disappeared, though big waves were washing along the decks on Saturday. Two men standing bydecided not to vacate the wreck, but instead of the seas subsiding they increased. A survey made about 2 a.m. showed that the forward part of the vessel had disappeared, and at daylight it was seen that the suspension bridge to the rocks had been swept away, and that two life-boats had been smashed and the motor launch swamped. About 5 a.m. the two men made their way through the surf, and, by .the aid of a line betweeuAthc ship and the shore, gained the rocks in safety. It is said that there will be little salvaging to do when the sea subsides.
