KILLED AT FOOTBALL.

CHRISTCHURCH YOUTH'S DEATH. Per Press Association. Christchureh, Last Night. An inquest was held this afternoon on the body of Samuel Plimsoll, a nine-teen-year-old footballer, who died at the hospital yesterday as the result of an injury received in the Roys' High SchoolChristchurch B President's Cup match, on Saturday. Patrick Leo Madden, captain of the Christchureh President's B team; said that at the time of the accident deceased was playing in the forwards. There was no rough play at all in the first spell. Witness went to collar one of the High School team, and deceased collared him at the same time. Witness received a slight impact on the side of his head from deceased's head. It dazed witness for a moment. Deceased lay down for four or five seconds, and seemed to be in pain, but got up, and the game was resumed. . Deceased played all through the second spell. Francis L. Scott, medical superintendent, diagnosed the ease as probably cerebral hemorrhage, but lie was unable to state the cause of death .beyond the fact that there was intracranial tension. The coroner recorded that deceased died as a result of injuries received while playing in a football match on Saturday.
