RUGBY ROUGHS.

SEIUOUS ALLEGATIONS. Per Press Association. Diinedin, Last Night. A heated discussion took place at the meeting of the committee of the Otago Rugby Union to-night, concerning the allegations of rough play in the Al-hambra-Kaikorai senior match, on Saturday. The question was introduced by a report from Referee Dowland, who had ordered Ohoyce, of the Alhambra team, off the field on a charge of striking H. McDonald. Kaikorai. Mr. White then referred to the roughness of the play. The chairman, Mr. Harris, who was not present at the match, said that he had been deluged with deputations that morning, and from what he could gather, the plav "had been unnecessarily rough. From what be had been told, the referee would have been justified in closing the game. Members of the Committee who were at the match said that the play was unnecessarily rough, but stated their inability to give the names of the players concerned. It was decided to reonest the captain and deputy-captain of the Alhambra team, the captain and Dryden of the Kaikorai team and a member of the committee of each club, the referee and Choyce to attend the next meeting.
