THE HUME SEAT By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, June 16. The latest returns show a slight improvement in the position of the Liberal .candidate for the Hume seat. THE SENATE VOTING. Received 16, 11.30 p.m. Sydney, June I<3. Though absent votes are still dribbling in, the election of Burns (Laborite) for Illawarra and McCSrath (Laborite) for Ballarat are now beyond question, defeating Liberals candidates, Fuller and McKay, for the Sfenate. The Labor bunches in Queensland, South Australia and AVestralia, and the Liberals in New South Wales and Tasmania are safe. In Victoria, Russell (Labor) and MeColl (! lieral) are assured of positions. For t 1 " third place Salmon (Liberal) has still a chance against Barnes (Labor).
THE REFERENDA. Sydney, June 1(1. The ■ referenda vote is approaching a million, on all questions. The Noes have an increasing lead. HUME COUNT UNFINISHED. Pveceived 17, 12.30 a.m. Sydney, June 10. The count of the votes for the Ilunie Electorate is still unfinished.
