A BUSH ACCIDENT.

Per Press Association,

Carterton, Saturday. An unfortunate accident befel a young man named Frank Daysh, yesterday. He was employed in the bush in the Maungatarere Valley by Mr. Rathbone, timber merchant, and was engaged' with others in hauling a log out of the bush, when suddenly the log lurched forward and crushed Daysh against a stump. His right leg was crushed fearfully. The leg was put in splints and the patient carried in, over ten miles to Carterton, and sent to Masterton Hospital. Daysh is 23 or 24 years of age.

A BODY RECOVERED. '

Wanganui, Saturday. The body of Spencer Abbott, a young man who was drowned at Pipiriki on May 10, was found yesterday at Pipi j riki. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
