FARMERS' UNION.

OTAGO ANNUAL CONFERENCE. Per Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. The annual conference of delegates to the Provincial Council of the Otago, branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was held to-day. Mr. D. M. Phillip (president) presided. The following remits were referred to the Dominion conference:—"That the Government be urged to adopt a scheme whereby more farm faborers and domestics can be brought to the Dominion, and that they be distributed fairly to both North and S'outh Islands"; "that the conference urge the Government to hasten legislation to give power to the Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance Associations to add accident insurance to the business; "that this Union enter emphatic protest against the alleged combine between the Federation of Labor and the shipping companies."
