MOVING THE INDRABARAH
| THE VESSEL MOVING. A GRAND EFFORT. Per Press Association. Palmerston North, Last Night. The grand effort to re-float the Indrabarah will .be made to-night at 10.30, when the tide will be at its highest. The latest news procurable by telephone yesterday night from a residence within live miles of the stranded steamer, reports progress up to 8 p.m. at that hour.
The steamer had shifted about 250 fathoms as a result of pulling on the big mushroom anchor. The shift had been mostly paralell with the shore towards Wanganui, and a little out to sea.
The distance Irom the shore now is a quarter of a mile. The vessel's stern points north, and she lies almost broadside on the the shore. It will be impossible to obtain any news to-night of the grand effort, as it will take a horseman more than an hour to reach the nearest residence after leaving the beach. FAILURE TO FLOAT. AN ABORTIVE ATTEMPT. Palmerston North, 1.10 a.m., Friday. Last night's attempt to float the' Indrabarah failed. <
