BANKS' AND LAW MATCH. The New Plymouth Banks and Law team overturned the tables of the Stratford money-changers and law-givers yesterday afternoon to the extent of fourteen points to three, the game being layed at Western Park. Business is so brisk in Stratford, that the legal and barking fraternity get few opportunities to indulge in the noble, pastime of football—hence the fact that the second five minutes of the game found the visiting bank clerks shorter in breath than they ever had been in cash, and the lawyers .in a very similar plight. The local team, however, consisted' in the main of active players, and their superior combination and condition told its tale. The game was fought throughout in the friendliest spirit, and rough play was conspicuous by its absence. The pace waa 'willing throughout, and both spells were-fairly evenly contested. ' ' The visitors kicked ? off, and did most of the attacking from the start. New Plymouth made a strong rush, and Reid picked .up, passed to lan Grant, who transferred nearly to Eric Grant, the last-named scoring. Thompson failed to convert. The next score came from Thompson, who followed up fast and touched down under the posts. He took the kick himself, but no goal resulted. Shortly afte.% Webster had an ineffectual shot at goal, half-time sounding with the score unaltered.
A run-away try by lan Grant, which was converted by Webster, marked the starting of the second Bpell. A'determined run by Tocker was mainly responsible for putting New Plymouth on the defence. The rush was : pressed home, and from a line-out Clousten scored a neat try. Cujtis missed the shot at goal. Tocker picked up and made a good run, hut his pass was not accepted. Then Armstrong secured and transferred to Wilkie, who had bad luck in not taking the ball with him. New Plymouth took the play back to the other end, and in a glorious scramble Webster scored. He did not succeed, however, in pdding the majoT points. In a forward scramble, Standish marked, but Webster was again unsuccessful with his kick. A clever -run by lan Grant nearly ended in a spore, but Tocker averted this further fatalitv. .
When Eeferee Mynott bldw his whistle there was no addition to the score, the game ending in a win for New Plymouth by 14 points to three.
TECHNICAL COLLEGE (14) v. SENIOR
CADETS (3),
A very willing game was played yesterday on the Western Park between teams representing Technical College and the New Plymouth Senior Cadets, the former winning an evenly contested game by fourteen points to three. For the winners tries were scored by Boswell, Stolir and Monk, Harvey converting one and kicking a penalty goal. For the losers Grant scored a splendid try, the outcome of a good passing rush. ■ Stohr stood out on his own in the Technical College team, while Howe arid Crone also played good games. ' Grant was a tower of strength in the opposing team, nnd Brokenshire and Newell were likewise responsible for a lot of useful work. Mr. Thompson refereed.

THE ASSOCIATION GAME trial representative MATCH. (By our Stratford Reporter.) Considering that the players had been brought in from so many different clubs," and weiv strangers to one another, the game was a good one, some of the work being of n really high order. Unfortunately the high wind frequently upset the calculations, and the undulatin" nature of the ground was not conducive to successful footwork either. The game was won bv the whites by one goal to nil, but in the last half of the second spell the yellows were very aggressive, and several shots narrowfv missed.
