GOLF.
. NEW PLYMOUTH v. HAWERA. Yesterday nineteen members of the New Plymouth Golf Club journeyed to Hawera, and although the weather was very bad when they left by the morning train, no rain fell at Hawera during the day, though a strong wind blew during the morning. The Hawera Club had a very strong team, and out of the nine four-ball foursomes played in the morning they won seven. The course was in splendid order, the greens being very fine. In the afternoon the New Plymouth team played up well, but lost by two matches, the result being in doubt until the last pair "had finished their match. TARAHUA CLUB. A vciy enjoyable day was spent yesterday on the Tarahua Club's links which were fully occupied. In the morning a mens medal handicap was played', ao well as a ladies' handicap match for a trophy presented by the captain (Mr. Geo. Gray). In the afternoon, a mixed foursome took place.
