PUBLIC TRUST COMMISSION.

MR. HERDMAN TALKS. Hy Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, May 9. Speaking at the opening of the new Public Trust buildings, the Hon A. L. Herdman said that the finding of the Commission had been satisfactory. Some reflections had been made on the personnel of the (Jomission, and it had been suggested that the report was furnished at the instigation of the Government, Such a suggestion was absolutely unfounded. Mr. Herdman commented on the proposal to separate the Native Trusts from the European Trusts. The investigation was conducted with fairness and thoroughness, and with as high a standard of conduct as characterised any investigation ever made in New Zealand.
