ANOTHER PECULIAR FATALITY. Per Press Association. . Dunedin, Last Night. An inquest was held to-day on the body of Mrs. Hannah Knight, aged 53 years, who was found dead in an outhouse at her residence, Oxford street yesterday. Medical evidence showed hat the cause of death was inhalation | nto the trachea of vomit, an almost identical case with that of the man Wilson, who died on Sundav. The Coroner returned a verdict of "death from suffocation,'' the cause being accidental lodgment of vomit in the trachea. AN UNKNOWN MAN'S DEATH.. Dunedin, Last Night. Jividenee at the inquest on the body ot Reginald Irving Johnston, who committed suicide at the Gladstone Hotel yesterday, disclosed certificates of membership of the United Commercial Travellers' Association of Australasia, and disclosed the further fact that he travelled for T. L. Elliott and Company, of Birmingham. A letter showed deceased'a private address was Elizabeth street Melbourne. He seemed to be about 38 or 37 years of age. and there was nothing in his possession to indicate winhe committed the act. The Coroner returned a verdict of "suicide bv cutting l»s throat, there being no evidence to ehow deceased's state of mind at the time." Correspondence indicated that deceased was married. A WOMAN'S SUICIDE. Christcliurch, Last Night. A married woman named Mary Jane Thomas, twenty-eight years of age committed suicide at her residence at St. Martin's this mornin<r. She had been despondent lately. This morning a tieisrhbour went to the house after her husband had left for work, but found the doors locked. The husband was com municated with, and he broke into the house and found that the deceased had hanged herself to the handle of the bedroom door. A verdict was returned of suicide whilst of unsound mind. DEATH FROM HEART DISEASE. Christchurch, Last Night. Mr. Colin Cook, a well-known resident of Lyttelton, of which he has been Mayor, died suddenly this evening, presumably from heart disease.
