Thnaru, Last Night. The Union slaughtermen at Smith- i field Freezing Worlds are out again. It i is stated that when three of their number were going to work this morning, on passing a free slaughterman, made objectionable remarks to .annoy him. whereupon the three say he pulled out a revolver and threatened to shoot. He sn.vs he pulled out a pocket knife and jokingly held it out as a pistol. The three reported the incident to the chief slaughterman as a threat,to shoot, and as'a-body they demanded the dismissal of the man as a danger. The management, after hearing both sides, refused to dismiss the man, and the unionists (about forty) refused to work, and are to be paid off, leaving eighteen men on the board.
