A young woman when in the Mount ' Eden district on Saturday evening was ! waylaid by a stranger, who coming suddenly upon her dealt licr a violent blow | on the head, sending her to the foot- ' path. Fortunately others in the vicinity heard her screams and ran to her assistance, Her assailant made off. The young woman soon recovered, and was I taken home. This is not the first case of the kind reported recently.
