A DROWNING FATALITY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Xight. e . A man named Lewis was lost off a n . fishing boat in the Gulf last night. He ,-)] over-balanced when pulling in a dinghy, and wearing heavy boots, presumably he e sank like a stone. Deceased was about thirty years of age. It is understood that he recently came from the Gisborne district. An employee at Henry Brown and Co.'s joinery factory at Morley street, 1 named A. M. Higgs. sustained a painful accident yesterday morning. Happening to slip on the floor of the factory, he } caught his hand in a machine in an attempt to save himself. His finger, which n was badly lacerated, was amputated at the Hospital.
