It suggested that the Silverton Tramway Company should carry provisions and mails ■free, provided the union supplied men. The Government made an offer to the parties in the Southern mining strike, the terms including a proposal that the Government should amend the Act, empowering tribunals constituted under the Act to consider the dismissal of employees. MINERS WILLING TO RESUME. Received 10, 11.10 p.m. Sydney, April 10. A meeting of the South Coast miners resolved that Mr. Carmichael's terms of settlement were fair, and accepted them. It is stated that if the employers accept, the miners are ready to resume work on Monday.

THE BARRIER STRIKE. Sydney, April 10. The . Barrier mines are gradually closing, owing to want of supplies and means bf transit. Over 2000 mine workers are idle. The general position is unchanged.
