NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB'S CARNIVAL.
The New Plymouth Club's carnival on Thursday night was well attended, and though the air was chilly there were good "fields" and good finishes. The Garrison Band played an enjoyable programme. Results:—

Despite his long handicap, Claringbold swam strongly and, gain ing on every turn, caught up the field in the fifth lap, and won easily in the spurt home.
