All sorts were unchanged. Silver, 2i'i%d per ounce. LONDON DAIUV PRODUCE REPORT. "Messrs E. dvillitbs ami Co. are in receipt of the following market report from their London principals. .Messrs Mills and Sparrow, dated London, -1D13:T* 1 - BITTER. There has been a slightly improved demand during tlie week for really choice butters, which are not too plentiful for the trade requirements, and arrivals have been well cleared. Australian: I'oih salted and nnsalted of choice quality met with a good enquiry. and the latter description occasionally showed an improvement over last week's values of Is to 2s per cwt. Secondary butters generally continue to sell badly, and prices show considerable variation, as is usual on slow markets. On the whole, we are able to report, for the lirst time for many years, that values have not declined, ami that there is a steadier feeling, and as the weather in Victoria and New South Wales is very hot and the production shrinking to a considerable extent, we are hoping that this will soon have an ell'ect on this side, and tliat values will improve. New Zealand: The large arrival per s.s. Pvotorua is now fairly well cleaned up. hut unfortunately there are several weak sellers ex the s.s. Tonic, due to arrive on February 7. This has rather a disturbing influence on the market. Danish: Market is firm, and an advance of one kroner (Is 2d) was made in the Copenhagen quotation yesterday. CHEESE, There has been a wider demand throughout the week, anil values are firm on last week's level of price. We are hoping for the next boat that a further advance of Is will be made.
