ENTERTAINMENTS.

THEATRE ROYAL PICTURES. The star item 'of an all-star programme, shown at the Royal last night, was a lengthy dramatic subject, entitled "Man and Mammon." The story is a vivid and dramatic presentation, which is full of excitement and interest. Other pictures worthy of special mention arc: "French Artillery Manoeuvres." Petticoat Camp" (a funny Tanhouser comedy), and a screaming Vitagraph picture! "Saving an Audience." All the other pictures are "top-notchers," and help in providing a capital evening's amusement and instruction. EMPIRE PICTURE PALACE. The superb change of 'programme shown at the Empire on Saturday and last night has attracted record attendances, and will be screened for the last occasion this evening. A most remarkable film is the Selig production, "An Equine Hero." a story of a Western girl and her all hut human horse. The. story is an essentially human one, and most dramatic in its conception and presentation. These American pictures are growing more and more popular weekly, just as the American novel is. and this particular film, which is over 1000 feet in length, is a singularly strong one. There will be the usual comprehensive supporting programme.
