MID-AIR MYSTERY.

The Cologne Gazette regrets that neither the English experts nor the Government have yet attempted to rebut the monstrous suggestion that German aircraft are manoeuvring over England. It officially declares that no German aircraft have ever visited England. Two airmen were killed while Hying at Bonn and Mulhausen respectively. A PROBABLE EXPLANATION. London, February 27. Reports show that phantom airships were sighted in many diverse directions about the same hour. A fire balloon, four feet high, partly deflated, was found at Market Weighton. This explains the supposed airship seen on the East Coast. PROPOSED AIR STATIONS. London, February 27. The Government is considering Mr. Grahame White's scheme for a chain of air stations, particularly round the coast. WHAT A STEAMER SAW. London, February 27. The steamer Arcadia saw an airship northwards of the Orkneys. Ms ADMIRALTY ORDER. London, February 27The Parseval airship for the Admiralty is nearly ready. AIRSHIP DAMAGED. London, February 27. The airship Reta was attempting to alight, owing to an engine trouble, at Alde'rshot, when it collided with telephone wires and was seriously damaged. ITALY LAUNCHING OUT. Rome, February 27. Italy is spending £500.000 on dirigibles and hydroplanes.
