NEWSPAPER PROPRIETORS.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland. Wednesday. The Newspaper Proprietors' Association decided lasL night to register under the Arbitration Act. It congratulated the pre-ident upon tile i-tcps taken to facilitate the transmission and publication of the Financial and Public Works Statements, and thanked the Oovernmeut for tho prompt and efficient manner in which its suggestions were carried out. The following officers were elected:—President, P. Selig; vice-presi-dent. J. II yman: committee. Messrs. G, Blundell. Fenwiek. Morton. Mel'ohic. and Pirani: secretary. If. Keys; auditor. R. Kerr. A letter was received from lion. T. ,\l. I!. Fisher stating that he received many requests from relatives that when tlie deaths of obl-age or military pensioners were recorded in the newspapers the fact of deceased being a pensioner should be suppressed, as no good purpose was done by doing so, while it often hurt the feelings of the relatives of the deceased. Tt was decided to comply with the request.
