Tl-J.K LIVE STOCK ENTRY, A 'RECORD FOR NEW ZEALAND. Many there were who doubted the wisdom of changing the date of the Taranal;i A. and P. Show from spring to autumn, but that it was a wise move on the part of the committee is proved by the number of entries that have been received for the Show, which is to be held on the Racecour-e next Wednesday and Thursday. Entries for live stockalone total 1.(m2, which is easily a record for New Zealand. Exceeding the previous best by about '2OO. The cattle, and horse sections are particularly strong. There is keen competition in the fat cattle classes, in which Taranaki will be out against Wanganui and Masterton.. Jerseys, Avrshires and Holsteins. always strong classes here, are records. In the horse sections the entries are large, and the display of jumping should be such as must please the most fastidious. All the champions at the Shows down the coast will be in thering in competition. The dairy producesection is much larger than was the case last year. Taken right through the experiment of holding an Autumn Show has made good. The secretary states that at the various shows he has visited much interest has. been manifested in the New Plymouth Show, and he !i.-,s been asked to secure accommodation for numbers of visitors besides competitor*.
