5 RECAPTURED BY MAORIS. (Per Press Association). Rotorua, last Night. 'On Monday morning "lwo pvi'ircrs. ' named Charles Victor Rivmond Stan- [ way and Walter James Ross, escaped ', from the Tree Plantation Camp at Kain--1 aron Plains, but were re-captured by Maoris last night. On being challenged both ran away, and one of the Maoris fired a rifle bullet, which loilced in Ross's buttock. The injury was slight. i [Ross was arrested about a year ago iin New Plymouth, on a charge of theft. .and was sentenced to 12 months' imand 5 years' reformative 'treatment.]
