EMIGRATION.
NOMINATED PASSENGERS. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. London, January 21. Sir E. Kinloch Cooke. Unionist member for Devonport, questioned Mr. Harcourt regarding the distress of the wives and families of many emigrants to Australia owing to tiie increased rates for nominated passengers. Mr. Harcourt said that some States had increased the rates in consequence of higher shipping rates. He denied that the Emigration Office was not up to date.
