LAND BALLOT.
AT NEW PLYMOUTH. A liind ballot was held at Snv Plyin* itli yesterday afternoon, under the ar-pices of tin' Taranaki Land Board, t()i' twelve sections in various districts. Tiiere were 30 applicants for seven seelions, the remaining five drawing no applications. The following- were the successful applicants:r—Sec. 8, block XIII., Waro, 700 acres, 1 applicant, C. Boult, Matiere; section 14, block XVI.. Aria. 352 acres 2 roods 38 perches, 7 applicants, Geo. Jebb, Matiere; section 5, block 11. llcao, 151 acres, 2 roods, 0 applicants, E. W. A, Hughes, Tongaporutu; section 3. block XII., Mapara. 170 acres, 4 applicants, C. Lovott, Waimiha; section 15, block XL, Mopara, 101 acres, 3 applicants. N. D. J oner-, Mahoenui; section (i. block V., Totoro, 104 acres, 2 roods, 3 applicants, S. Mad wick, Awatura East; section 4. block V., Totoro, 173 acres 2 roods, 3 applicants, L. D. Nicholls, Waitara.
Tho sections not applied for were as follow: —Section 07,. X., Mimi, 250 acres; section 4, 111., Upper Waitara, 700 acres; section 7, XII., Waro, 905 acres; section 3, TL. Totoro, 205 "acres. 3 roods; section 4. VIII.. Mimi, 1100 acres.
